10 GOOD REASONS FOR THE SYMPOSIUM

1
To provide artists with a practical, low-cost, comfortable way to network with art publishers, art galleries, and art brokers. Other venues such as New York Art Expo, prohibit non-exhibiting artists from bringing in portfolios or photos of their work to show galleries and publishers. In contrast, IABS will not only allow artists to bring images of their work but will actually be encouraged to pull out their portfolios; "samples" are also welcome!

2
To provide art galleries and art publishing firms with a practical, low-cost, encouraging forum to enlighten artists on how best to pursue their dreams. In addition, they will "discover" new talent on a regular basis for test marketing to keep their firms and the contemporary art scene both vital and alive.

3
To provide the major sponsor and art patrons with an international venue to support artists and the visual arts through recognition and scholarships. In turn the major sponsor and art patrons will receive recognition and publicity as desired.

4
To provide a revenue stream and thus to be able to continually make available scholarships and its resultant inspiration to deserving art students. This fund will grow and has the potential to become a major endowment for talented artists to allow them to pursue higher fine arts education.

5
To provide art industry resource firms such as trade publications, pedestal producers, software developers, book publishers, artist supply distributors, print producers, etc. the opportunity to connect with the industry.

6
To provide artists, art publishers, and galleries with an opportunity to preview the latest industry resource products and services. This annual connection will vastly improve the natural reciprocity inherent in these symbiotic relationships. Industry resource firms will thrive more readily while the audience they serve will do likewise.

7
To showcase art with technology. This includes specially designed software to assist art firms in increasing sales, Website design for maximum sales potential, how galleries can quickly update their Websites, how computers are being used to sell art, the latest print making and computer image storage technology, and much more.

8
To provide business education workshops: For new galleries, consultants and dealers, as well as art industry veterans, directors, gallery owners, artists and publishers. There will be seminars of interest to all art industry professionals.

9
To provide artists with a low-cost, practical way to exhibit their art to their target audience with the optional "add-on" easel show entitled, The International Art Gallery.

10
To provide art industry resource firms with a moderately priced, logistically easy, practical way to display their products and services with the optional "add-on" tabletop exhibition entitled, The International Art Resource Center.
